WARNING: This blog is NOT politically correct!
I believe it is our responsibility as parents is to teach our kids how to become great adults.
That means teaching them discipline, responsibility, honesty, the value of hard work, and the importance of self care.
Sometimes we forget these things. It’s easy, in modern times, to think it’s our job to buy our kids the latest iPhone or the most awesome games for their Playstation.
I’ll consider my job well done if all my four kids grow up to be independent, thoughtful, responsible adults who can care for themselves and others and give back to their community.
What this blog is about…
I’ll cover education, thought, politics (yes, even in these days when one side can’t seem to talk with the other!), history and plain old common-sense.
Some of it won’t be politically correct. Some of it you’ll probably disagree with. I’d love to hear what you think, so please comment. Just keep it polite.
Most of all this blog will be about our kids. Keeping things simple. Going back to basics. Pondering where we’re going wrong and what we can do to make things right again.
I hope you’ll join me.
For our kids.
The face behind the blog…
I’m Lee. I live in Dunedin, New Zealand with my partner Matt and our four children (son 18, son 14, daughter 13 and daughter 11).
I’m a technical writer and part-time novelist who enjoys writing choral music in her spare time. I also teach computing as a volunteer at our local Code Club.
Other passions include travel, minimalism, dark chocolate and renovating our 120 year old home.
